It started with produce.
In 1958, Jim Wallace started Wallace Produce, delivering fresh produce to Los Angeles restaurants. The city was filling up with drive-ins, coffee shops and family kitchens, and every one of them needed a supplier who actually showed up.
He ran the route the way you would if every customer were a neighbor: show up on time, deliver what you said you would, and fix it yourself when something goes wrong. Over the years the truck filled out well past produce, because that is what his customers asked for.
Jim passed away in 1993. The family renamed the company Sweet Jimmy's Foods in his memory, and kept running it the way he did. The name on the truck changed; the handshake behind it did not.
